At last, after so many political and judicial squabbles over uniform issue, time has come for President Musharraf to doff army uniform and to take oath for the office of president for another five years. In the midst of political haze , worsened by imposition of state of emergency, one can see rays of light at the end of dark tunnel. One can hope that state of emergency would be lifted soon, all politicans would get level grounds in the upcoming Jan 8 general elections, and the caretaker governments, at federal and provincial levels, would ensure holding general election in peaceful, air and transparent manner.
Let all the stakeholders in governance including state executive, legislature, judiciary, media, civil society organizations act with prudence and move forward into better future, leaving behind the agonizing times of the past couple of months. Let’s rise above petty politics and fight against rising militancy which is posing a direct threat to the existence of this great nation
